Pinnicale security

You have to check the system daily to ensure that it works. Mark kept on telling me that they aren't responsible for the maintenance of the "free installed equipment" and set-up fee. but I need to pay 32.99 for monitoring. okay, sure I'm good for that. HOWEVER they don't ping the system .. run fast Americans. They also don't provide any insurance of their program in the event it fails. As I told Mark,I'm paying for the insurance of security for a 24x7x365 service. what do you mean you can't guarantee me that.

Damaged my home - unsuccessful installation

We agreed to purchase Pinnacle's home security system. They sent out the installer. He proceeded to install the system before checking to be sure we could get a wireless signal. We are a rural area and we do use cell phones. After he installed the system he discovered that he could not get signal with any of the companies they were trying to work with. He uninstalled his equipment and thought he could re-install my current system. Not successful. He damaged beyond repair on panel. Left holes in the walls. (we built our home new 5 years ago so I don't appreciate the holes) I had to call my current security company to come and repair and reinstall my system. I faxed the bill to the "home damage" dept. of Pinnacle at their request and was told they would reimburse my for the bill. So far not happening. I called and was told the check would be in the mail. The next week still no check. Called again. Was "promised" the check was being sent out. A week later still no check. I called and was told that the process had been denied by the first supervisor, approved by the next supervisor when I called last week. Now was told it had been denied again. Left on hold again. Came back and said it had been approved but for $100 less than the bill. After explaining the step by step situation here during the unsuccessful installation I was put on hold again. He came back to say the whole amount had be approved and a check would be mailed. Should have it next week. We'll see. I think it is all just another lie to put me off thinking that I'll eventually just give up. Wrong! I work hard for my money. The bill is for $275. I know it won't break me for them not to pay it but that's not the point. BTW, check the BBB. They have an F rating. Wish I had checked that before allowing them even in my house.

Thank you Ringtailusa for your final comment saying they resolved your issue. You as the consumer should have asked in the first place what cellular system was being put in. Especially since if you live in an area with 'no cell coverage'. You should be more aware of this then anybody. To be in an area with no coverage should be a first sign to you that a system using a cell phone would not work.

And as for the bbb rating. Don't you know the bbb is a scam in itself? as the previous person said, just watch the video from 20/20 news, its all there.

Next time you get with a company, read all documents, and ask lots of questions. Questions never hurt. You could have asked, "What wireless cell phone signal does the security systems use?" The technician would have said, "T-mobile, and AT&T". And you could have stopped the install there before it happened.

I'm sorry to you that you had to go through this, but it could have been avoided in your part. But also I'm glad to see the issue was resolved.

Vanessa H Yfq

First let me say that Pinnacle has just resolved the issue I had with them.I have received the check in full for restoring my current system.

Thank you.

And to get one thing straight, I wasn't mad at them for not being able to provide service. I have a landline which we use for our current system. I was unhappy with them for not checking serviceablity before they un-installed my system and installed theirs. That should have been done first. The reason I wouldn't use theirs on the landline is because I wanted a service they provide only by wireless and they understood that up front. I have exactly what they could have offered by landline now and it cost me $30/month less. All of this was talked about before installation. It would have saved the installer's time as well as the money they have been out having my system repaired. I have repaired the holes in my walls myself. No, I don't live in the middle of the sahara desert but I do live in a very comfortable, quiet rural area. As far as the BBB, I have relatives that work for the BBB - you believe what you want to and I will believe what I want to. In my opinion they work.

Just thankful to say all is resolved here.

Guest

So let me get this straight- You don't want to pay for a landline, which is understandable in today's world, so you have to have a cellular alarm system. That's like me.

But for some reason your home can't get a T-Mobile or AT&T signal (the signal Pinnacle cell cards use to communicate) so you get upset at them for not being able to provide service to you.

Where the heck do you live, the middle of the sahara desert? How can you live without being able to make phone calls yourself?

Guest

You can't use the BBB as a way to judge companies- didn't you see the 20/20 news report on them? You BUY ratings!

Pinnacle has been great for us, and we read on the BBB website that they have resolved 100% of the complaints raised. I wish I could say the same for my insurance company...

Pinnacle Security

I was looking for a different company to go with since ADT refused to upgrade my system after 12 years of business. I went to pinnacle and scheduled to have a system installed. They say your first impression is the best impression. Well pinnacle Security Sucks EGGS!!! The guy who showed up to my house did not have a Pinnicle Uniform, on but did have this Dingy Pinnicle baseball cap on. He had tobbacco in his lip and he looked like a kid that you would see at one of those skate board Parks... WTF!!!! I knew from the time I opened the door that He was not installing the system in my house and I was not signing a contract with Pennicle for 3-Freakin years. He did not have all of the things that We agreed upon on the phone , in regards to the Camera's, the extra widow contacts, and he wanted to install the system in my home using the land line, because he could not get a Cellular signal in my home. I told him to kick rocks, and get the *** out of my house. This was very unprofessional of them to send someone to my house, in thier own vehicle, in their own clothes, attempting to install a security system in my house. What company only gives you 3-days to resend a major purchase such as this???? It will take atleast a month to decide if the system works well, if their are any bugs in the system, and If you are going to send someone to my house representing your company, can you give them a van and a uniform and a ID Badge or something??????? Dont fool with Pinnacle>>>>>

Pinnacle security

A salesman came around selling security systems. This salesman stated that we were perfect for an advertisement home and if we put signs out in front yard we could get the system for free. He went on to say that we could cancel at any time with out a cancelations fee. A couple of months later we decided we did not want the service as my ten year old is very scared of it. Now they claim they dont do this and we are obligated to finish out the contract time. They won't budge or seem to care. I have emailed, writen, and called the customer service watch dogs won't allow me to talk to anyone with auth ority. .

Pinnacle Security worst ever company

System did't work, and they actually said that they could not fix it properly. Would go off just because the door was open and the system was turned off. Do not do automatic payments they will not stop, even when you send written notice. I canceled 6 months ago and the harasment phone calls still happen ever month. I can not get them to go away. My contract was up 6 months ago, and I sold the house 6 months age, and I moved out of the state six months ago. They are the company from ***. Time for a lawyer.

FU#K Pinnacle Security and Monitronics

Pinnacle Security and Monitronics are a pain in the ***. They work together to rip you off of your money. The Pinnacle guy said the contract was 2 years - I came to find it was 39 months. They sell their contracts to Monitronics. So, if you want to cancel you have to spend hours on the phone with Monitronics. Then Monitronics delivers the contract back to Pinnacle where you will need to spend another hour on the phone trying to cancel your account. Bottom line - don't use this company - look for a company that offers home security at a reasonable price for a reasonable term. Not to mention the sales guys don't even pay attention to No Soliciting Signs - they guy came right up and knocked on my door and his "work around" to the sign was that I was referred by a neighbor (yeah *** right, I had just moved into that neighborhood). Anyway, save yourself years of headache and trouble and go with another security company who I'm sure has much lower rates than Pinnacle and Monitronics.

Pinnacle and Monitronics keep transferring my account back and forth like a hot potato after receiving my written cancellation notice all the while charging monthly service fees even though the original contract terms were fulfilled.

To make it even more interesting, they have "accidentally disconnected" on me numerous times when I call in in regard to my account and a status update on cancellation. I have my account automatically billed to a credit card and I am going to notify the credit company of this billing activity as fraudulent activity as well as notify the BBB.

sounds about right. I have news for you though platinum isn't any better. Platinum was formed by a bunch of ex apx/vivint and pinnacle sales men that had gotten fired from those companies for being shady.

Guest

They ran my credit with out asking me, and some how ran my emergency contacts credit as well and are telling me my sister in law in Tallahassee is the primary name on the account because she had good credit. Bad business practice!

I just got a new system from a company called Platinum. They were very honest and up front about everything.

Pinnacle security are rip offs and liers

they came to my house selling the security system. I told them I didn't need it. The sales man wouldn't take no for an answer, and told me how much safe and secure I would feel and kept talking until I finally gave him my information and credit card. Behind him was the installer ready to install the alarm system. I only used it for two months, and tried to cancel but they said i had a contract and there would be consequences if I didn't pay the bill for the next 37 months. I have been paying 49.00 per month I still have two months to go and I don't use the alarm. I hope I don't see any slick sales person at my door ever again. I hate this company!!! They are such rip offs. I have been paying the bill only because i have a credit score of 800+ and I want to keep it that way.

Pinnacle Security Holds You Hostage

I want to save money (who doesn't, right?) so I thought "why not get rid of our land line and home internet?") Therefore, I called Pinnacle Security and said I wanted to change our contact phone to the cell phone; however, they told me that without a land line they would have to "upgrade" our system, intall a chip and it would be $5 more a month. I was fine with that until the customer service rep told me that I would also have to sign another contract for an additional three years. I don't want to sign another contract. I am tired of being held hostage by cell phone companies, security companies, cable companies, etc. who force you to sign up with them for anywhere from one to five years.

There is no "out of contract price". Just as with my electricity, I like having the option of switching companies if I choose to do so.

I sign a 6 month contract or even one year but I do not like signing a THREE year contract. What happens if we move within one year and do not purchase another house and do not need security monitoring?

Then we are stuck having to pay 24 months of monitoring to break the contract. Seems a bit excessive to me.

Guest

You can be upset at the extra contract, or pay the "out of contract price." Its just like my iPhone. When the new one came out I could buy it for $199, but I needed to renew a contract to get that price.

If I wasn't willing to renew the contract then I had to pay like $800. Needless to say I chose to renew.

What's the big deal of being in a contract anyway? You know you'll need service, why not pay lower upfront rates to get what you need?

I guarantee that if you called Pinnacle up and asked "*** much for that cellular chip if i DON'T renew?" they'll give you a price. Chances are, you'll want to renew, cause that stuff is expensive.

Would have went a different way...

Ohhh let me start by saying that the Representative that knocked on my door was very nice and helpful...yet very deceiving. The deal was to get a new security system. Well the house is 30 years old. I warned the rep and the installer or this (which is amazing that the installer showed up right after the sales rep). Well stating that my old system wouldn't be a problem, we proceeded. First false alarm..that night. Then next morning at work...and so on. Well they send out the installer again to assess the problem. They adjust some sensors, and go off on their merry way....That afternoon, and night...same problems. Couple days latter the installer comes back out, an notes that the system is old and several sensors will need to be replaced at around 100 bucks a pop. (8 in total) Well I go on line and find these same sensors...for around 3 to 8 dollars a pop..okay I understand labor fees, no problem. Well while installing censored I noticed that their installed had improperly spliced wires and those sensors go off all by themselves with the wind. I go to cancel this...haahahaha no, I'm in a contract. I ask that they change the automatic withdrawal day to the 1st when I get paid...they say no. No to mention that they want 50 bucks a month when competitors in this area are going from 35 a month to 20, for the same service. Well shame on me for not looking around, shame on this company for it's level of service.

Failed to do a install in two months and wouldn't let me cancel

This company has the poorest customer service I have ever seen. My husband and I have had issues since the moment the sales rep left the door. We were sold on a product of lies. By the time the agent called to confirm the sale we were informed the cost was actually going to be higher than what we were quoted and the told install would not happen until 2 wks after we attempted to schedule it. Stupidly, we decided it was still worth it and agreed to the contract. Everything seemed fine until a year after the service was installed. My husband and I decided to move states, and we wanted to keep the alarm system since no issues had developed. I called customer service and explained to them the situation. They told us the service was still available at our new location and they would do a free install with all new equip if we resigned our contract. Once again another *** decision. So we had our service turned off at location #1 in July. Since we were renting our location #2 we had to have signatures from our renting company giving us permission to have the system installed. This took until the following March. Within that time frame I HAD to CONTINUE making payments for a service I did not have. Which is understandable since it was paperwork on my end that needed to be finalized. But here comes the fun part. We were told in March a tech would be out at a certain time and certain date...so we waited...and nothing. We call customer service who then tells us they will call us back to reschedule. No one called us back. After multiple calls from us, customer service finally admitted that they did not have a tech in the area that was certified, and that they would call us back when they did...so we waited...and SURPRISE...NO ONE CALLED US BACK. This continued for 2 months. During which, Pinnacle Security was still taking it's monthly payments even though I did have the service. They offered to give me credit for my upcoming months, which I refused...I wanted the money back in my account, bc who knew when the service waws going to get installed. Every time I called I informed the rep on the phone that I would be canceling my service in May if it stil had not been completed. On the day that my account was deducted again while not having service, I called to have my account officially canceled. After being MANHANDLED by customer service and assignment they finally put me through to cancel. ALL of a sudden, they were able to send out a tech to install my service. I REFUSED! Why would I want to continue to do business with a company that does nothing but lie!?!?! I find it funny it took me calling to cancel before they actually could get someone out. I should not have had to gone through what I did and still have these criminals try to get more out of me! the supervisor SAM that I talked to tried to offer me everything under the sun to prove his company was better than what I said it was. SORRY DUDE, BUT I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO GO THROUGH 2 MONTHS OF *** TO FINALLY GET SOMETHING DONE! Once he realized that I wanted to cancel my account ( after stating over 7 times ) he finally tells me I will be held accountable for the rest of my contract. Which for some reason is 39 months. Meaning I have a remaining 18 months left. I refuse to pay. If they send me to collections I will get a lawyer. I have already discussed this with 2 lawyers and we are currently awaiting for a copy of my contract so that we can take this through the correct channels. HOW *** can a company be? They are in a rude awaking if they think that they are going to pull something over on me. THE WORST SERVICE FROM SALES REP, CUSTOMER SERVICE, ASSIGNMENT, & CANCELLATION! Do yourself a favor and get a dog rather than deal with these ppl. At least you can train a dog to listen and have manners, unlike Pinnacle Security!

jlockett - you obviously never read any of the sales manuals, as it never once mentions any of the approaches or phrases that you mention in your comment. I have worked for this company for 3 years and have never told anybody that I "wasn't selling anything", or that i was "only helping the first few families with GE's new tech".

The sales manual never says anything about "beating the customer inside their house," or calling a supervisor to "slam" the customer.

YOU can choose how you want to sell and the approaches you use. I have always been honest.

Guest

I tried working for this company and I will admit that a few make really good money doing their job. I however couldn't stomach that 1.

I am dropped off in a area without anyway of getting out of there if I had too under my own control. 2. I was instructed on how to take the owner out of the house and beat them into their own home. 3.

The turnover that was mentioned actually happens. We are instructed to call our supervisor "for security reasons" and let them know I was in the house and the address where the sup would show up and try to slam the owner into a deal. I have managed door to door teams and made really good money at it. I have never felt like I was being dishonest until I went with this company.

The thing that turned my stomach the worse is telling an owner that I am not selling anything and not to worry. I am just doing some advertising. The whole reason why I was there is to sell them a system. 4.

telling the owner at the door that we are only "helping the first few familys with GE's most proven tech. Either to update an existing system or install a new one if you dont already have one". I have worked alongside other security offices and know that anyone can sell any companys equipment. In fact I almost pulled the trigger on opening a company that would of sold the same system.

They also say it's worth over $1200.00. The reality is it's able to be bought online thru GE for around $399.00. There is so much more to say if you want more just ask.

I have the total inside info. 8-2011.

I think its funny when people buy a home security system and are too cheap to spend the money for a full setup. When I got my system (Through Pinnacle) I paid the extra amount to get window sensors on every window, glass break detectors in every room, and security cameras. I got the programmable thermostat and mobile access from my iPhone. Its the best security system I've ever had in my home, but its because I actually took the time to do my research and get the stuff I knew I'd want!

You don't have much a right to be upset. Its like going to buy a new car and saying "I don't want to pay extra for seat belts or airbags" and then getting upset when its not a safe vehicle!

Maybe next time you will actually listen to the company rep when he's asking questions and trying to help you customize the system to your home, and not just nod blankly and take the standard package.

And why would you get upset at the installation time? Did you have somewhere to be at 11pm? Chances are you'd be watching a movie or something anyway. Instead of complaining, you should be happy they responded so quick! Would you prefer to go with ADT and wait 3 weeks to get installed? I was thrilled that they could install it the same day I purchased it!

Pinnacle Security Awful

I have never been more unhappy with a company. To begin the sales person lied to us and stated that if we were unhappy with the service the 2 year contract can be thrown out. I say 2 year because that's exactly what we were told until we moved to another state 2 years later that did not have any techs or offices near by and the company would not even work with us on the remainder 14 months we had.... that we were lied to about!! I would never never recommend this company to anyone, horrible customer service and huge bullshitters.

you work for the company and you are trying to make the company sound good.

You know it, and we see right through it.

Please, next time dont try and tell us that you dont lie door-to-door, because you are lying right now....lies, lies, lies...

Guest

Give me a break Pinnacle Customer. "companies do background checks, reference checks, credit checks, but how would you check if a potential new employee is a liar?"

It is Pinnacle's job to make sure that the people representing their company - especially since it's a door-to-door based business structure - are honest, upfront, and ethical.

And if a "liar" slips through their assumed stringent pre-employment process, THEY NEED TO DO RIGHT BY THEIR CUSTOMERS. You missed my point.

It seems like Pinnacle takes that, "Hey customer, it's someone else's fault so there's nothing we can do for you" approach instead of "The customer is ALWAYS right" approach. Even a "Give the customer the benefit of the doubt" would be a refreshing change of pace for this company!

Guest

I've had Pinnacle for two and half years and have loved them. I know when I got the system they went over everything with me on a recorded call, including the contract length, I assume they did the same for Liz?

As for aNons comment, companies do background checks, reference checks, credit checks, but how would you check if a potential new employee is a liar?

Ask them? All you can do is make sure customers understand everything when they sign up, which I know at least for me, they went over EVERYTHING with me.

I got to talk to a rep at the company that wasn't a sales person that didn't really care if I signed up or not. Pinnacle Security is Awesome!

Guest

I have been following comments on this company ever since a Pinnacle rep knocked on my door three months ago.

Don't let anyone tell you that this company sucks because of a few bad reps. Someone had to hire those reps.

Someone had to train or NOT train them and someone is responsible to monitor ALL their sales reps and their behavior. I'm shocked at how many people say, "There were bad reps out there causing problems." Hello! Pinnacle is responsible to keep their reputation and customer service status in good review. If they hire liars, it's still their fault!

And if a shady sales rep lied to you, Pinnacle should make it right by negating the remainder of your contract. Your comment is justified and I hope you find resolution soon!

Pinnacle Security Rep - Can't you read?

NO SOLICITING means don't knock on my door. Don't ring my doorbell. Don't bother me. You blatantly ignored my huge, visible NO SOLICITING sign and even when I pointed at it during your schpeel, you ignored it. So,I ignored you and shut the door on your face. Why do I have a NO SOLICITING sign on my house? Because if I want something, I'll go and find it, and more importantly, I don't want door-to-door salespeople wasting their time on my porch. I'm not going to tell you yes on the spot. EVER. So, the point here - To all you Pinnacle Reps on this forum posing as "Happy Customers", here's a little reminder; No means no!

Craig, You are either a 'shill' or an employee of Pinnacle. Most of their sales people and installers are returning L.D.S.Missionaries.

Look at Better Business Bureau's rating on Pinnacle. All of them are F.

Caveat Emptor.. Check out any door-to-door sales people and don't let them in your home.

Don't let them come inside to 'give you a demonstration' or check out your existing system. If you do succumb and sign a contract you can't call them on the phone to cancel. In most states you have a 3 day period where you can cancel but in Pinnacle's contract, you can only do it by FAX.

Don't let them install prior to 3 days after you sign the contract in case you get your sanity back and decide to cancel the contract. IF you don't, you will end up paying the full contract price (usually $45.00 a month for 36 months) even if your system doesn't work.

Guest

Craig, don't you have more people to annoy with your door-to-door Pinnacle sales pitches than to be on this website?

In some US cities, like mine, it is absolutely against the law to knock on the door with the intent to enter into a business transaction when there is a NO TRESPASSING or NO SOLICITING sign posted.

So, shove it! It's not a bunch of college kids - the guy that disregarded the sign on my door had to be at least 40 and a loser like you.

And THESE SALESMEN ARE THE MIDDLE MAN, ***. They are in the middle of Pinnacle and me, so what in the he// are you talking about?

If you guys weren't so ignorant you'd realize that because they are knocking on your door they can cut out all the middle men and give you a way better product for a fraction of the cost or even no cost. Your no soliciting sign on your door is not a law it's more of sign signifying that you will undoubtedly be an old *** who answers the door.
